About The Position

Performs advanced administrative and operational support requiring independent judgment, interpretation of policies and procedures, and administrative decision-making. Coordinates and drives key unit initiatives, promotes unit programs, and serves as an integral contributor to the efficient day-to-day operations and overall success of the department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and two years of highly responsible and varied office administration or business management experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Advanced written communication skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Knowledge of accounting/budgeting procedures.
  • Ability to work under pressure, to adjust to constant changes, to handle multiple tasks, and to coordinate the work of others.
  • Ability to keep complex records, to assemble and organize data of complex nature, and to prepare and submit reports in acceptable formats.
  • Ability to conceptualize, plan and organize multiple programs and assignments effectively.
  • Ability to work on complex and confidential tasks utilizing judgment, tact, and resourcefulness.
  • Skill in developing and maintaining good working relationships.
  • Knowledge of policies, practices, procedures and terminology of assigned function.

Responsibilities

  • Manage unit budgets, financial operations, purchasing, travel, contracts, payroll, and financial reporting.
  • Coordinate human resources functions, including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, payroll, graduate student administration, and personnel records.
  • Oversee academic and administrative operations, including course scheduling, testing, graduate admissions, accreditation, scholarship awards, inventory, facilities, and compliance.
  • Provide administrative support to the unit director through reports, correspondence, meeting coordination, policy implementation, and records management.
  • Supervise office operations, administrative staff, and customer service while ensuring adherence to university and grant policies and procedures.
  • Plan and coordinate unit events, faculty searches, ceremonies, and other special projects.
  • Manage unit communications, including website content, social media, and serving as the primary point of contact for faculty, staff, students, and external partners.
