About The Position

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University is seeking a full-time, employed faculty member to serve as Division Director and Enterprise Lead for Gynecologic Oncology. This leadership role encompasses both the directorship of the Gynecologic Oncology division and leadership within the Women’s Service Line. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to education, clinical care, and research, aiming to advance the academic mission of the department. This position involves providing strategic and operational leadership for integrated patient care, research, and education programs across the university and its regional clinical sites. The Division Director will oversee gynecologic oncology cancer care at TJUH, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based, multidisciplinary care, and will champion a culture of quality, patient safety, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities include monitoring quality metrics, patient satisfaction, and outcomes data, as well as leading faculty development, recruitment, mentorship, and educational programs for students and residents. The role also emphasizes research and clinical innovation, including championing clinical trials and fostering research engagement within the division. Additionally, the candidate will build relationships with referring physicians and healthcare stakeholders to expand access to specialized services. As Lead for Gynecologic Oncology within the Women’s Service Line, the individual will collaborate with leadership to standardize clinical pathways, ensure consistent quality, expand clinical trials, support educational initiatives, and drive strategic program growth regionally. This includes oversight of regional physician alignment, care coordination, access optimization, and development of outreach strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for integrated programs in patient care, research, and education across the academic and regional clinical enterprise.
  • Provide direct physician oversight of gynecologic oncology cancer care at TJUH and ensure the continued delivery of high quality, evidence-based, multidisciplinary care.
  • Champion a culture of quality, patient safety, and accountability, while leading continuous quality improvement initiatives designed to optimize the patient experience and improve clinical outcomes.
  • Monitor and act on quality metrics, patient satisfaction scores, and outcomes data in partnership with departmental quality leadership.
  • Oversee divisional faculty development, recruitment, mentorship, and educational programming for students and residents.
  • Serve as a visible leader in research and clinical innovation.
  • Serve as a champion for clinical trials, partnering with the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center Clinical Trials Office to expand the gynecologic oncology clinical trials portfolio.
  • Foster a culture of research engagement and scholarly productivity within the division and department.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with referring physicians, primary care networks, community organizations, and regional healthcare stakeholders to strengthen referral pathways and expand access to specialized gynecologic oncology services.
  • Work closely with Service Line VPs, hospital, physician, and operational leadership across regional practice sites to standardize clinical pathways, ensure consistent quality and patient experience, expand clinical trials, support educational initiatives, and support strategic program growth throughout the region.
  • Oversee regional physician alignment, multidisciplinary care coordination, access and referral optimization, and development of outreach and partnership strategies to strengthen the regional gynecologic oncology network.
