About The Position

The Continuing Education Department accepts applications for part-time instructors to teach non-credit career certificate, professional development, and personal enrichment courses in their areas of expertise. Courses are offered in varying formats and last from one day to several weeks; start dates and times vary by course. Instructors prepare and present course material during assigned course times, coordinate materials with the Program Coordinator, and complete necessary follow-up paperwork. Course areas include seasonal arts and crafts, yoga and wellness, retirement planning fundamentals, basic home repair, and introductory courses to build confidence. Applicants should describe their areas of interest and expertise in their cover letter and identify the specific courses they would like to teach; new course ideas are welcome.

Requirements

• High school diploma and expertise or experience relevant to the course topic.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Strong communication skills and ability to articulate in small and large group settings.
• Ability to engage and motivate diverse groups of people.
• Professional demeanor and reliability.
• Effective time management to ensure classes run smoothly and on schedule.
• Adaptability and ability to respond to participant needs in real time.
• Excellent customer service skills.

• Ability to lift up to 10 lbs.
• Ability to drive a company-owned or personal vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present course material during assigned course times.
• Coordinate course materials with the Program Coordinator.
• Complete necessary follow-up paperwork.
• Provide high-quality instruction to students.
• Work with coordinators to ensure attendance is taken, curriculum is up to date, the syllabus is accurate, and final reporting is completed.
