Texas Woman’s University’s Visual Arts Division is seeking adjunct faculty to teach courses in Graphic Design. Applicants should have expertise in one or more of the following areas: animation, typography, publication design, web and app design, social media and advertising, packaging design, video production, motion graphics, digital art foundations, character design, narrative illustration, digital illustration, and scientific illustration. Student-centered instructors with experience in community-focused design and/or a pedagogical interest in social justice and feminist issues are sought. Illustration experience is welcomed to support the illustration track. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis to create a pool of potential adjunct faculty. There are no specific deadlines for the pool; the university will reach out for more information only when a need arises. Applicants may submit updated materials, preferably no more than twice a year, except to correct an error. Applicants should submit the requested materials in PDF format, with their name in each file title, preferably combined into a single document: a cover letter listing the topics and courses they are qualified and interested in teaching and stating whether they have at least 18 graduate hours in the discipline; a current CV with educational background and teaching experience; three references with phone numbers and email addresses; an unofficial transcript from the highest degree aligned with the discipline; 10 samples of professional graphic design work; and 10 samples of student work from courses where the applicant was instructor of record. Texas Woman’s University is an equal opportunity employer and educational institution. Employment offers are contingent on proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Positions deemed security-sensitive require background checks and verification of academic credentials.
