About The Position
ProspectBlue is partnering with a well-established, employee-owned organization in Richmond to identify a Staff Accountant to join their finance team. This is a great opportunity to join a positive, collaborative workplace with room for professional growth and the option for a hybrid work schedule. We’re looking for someone with a solid accounting foundation who enjoys being hands-on and working across a variety of accounting functions.
Requirements
- 3+ years of accounting experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred
- Strong understanding of AP/AR and general accounting processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and PivotTables
Nice To Haves
- Experience with macros or process automation is a plus
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities
Responsibilities
- Process and review Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Support timely collections and disbursements
- Assist with monthly financial reporting
- Participate in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
- Perform account reconciliations and journal entries
- Prepare ad hoc reports and support special projects
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and automate repetitive tasks
