About The Position
Staff Accountants support client relationships and provide basic audit, bookkeeping, and tax preparation services. The role offers exposure to multiple facets of public accounting, with opportunities to develop a focus in audit, bookkeeping, and/or tax work. Staff Accountants provide full-charge bookkeeping for multiple clients using QuickBooks; prepare payroll, tax, and business records and reports; prepare corporate and individual tax returns; and assist with analyzing client financial records to identify potential accounting and auditing issues. The position is fully onsite at one of the firm's offices. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with flexibility around personal and family commitments. During tax season, workweeks may reach 50–60 hours; during the rest of the year, workweeks are 30–40 hours. Hybrid and remote work may be available to candidates with at least three years of experience in a similar role at a CPA firm.
Requirements
- Associate or bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- At least 2 years of experience in public accounting or a CPA firm environment.
- Ability to work fully onsite at one of the firm's offices.
- Willingness to be cross-trained to support tax, audit, and bookkeeping needs.
Nice To Haves
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar role at a CPA firm for potential hybrid or remote work eligibility.
