About The Position

Requirements

• A diploma or university degree and a minimum of 2 years of experience in Child and Youth Care, Disability Services, or a related field such as Social Work, Psychology, or Community Rehabilitation.
• Eligible to work in Canada
• Clear, current (within 6 months) Police Information Check and Intervention Record Check.
• A valid AB Driver’s License, clean three-year abstract, three-year driving record with NO at fault claims, and access to a reliable vehicle
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Ability to physically interact with youth during recreation outings, etc.
• Demonstrate care and compassion for young people.
• Possess a strong understanding of working with young people and adults who live with challenges in a variety of areas including developmental disabilities, mental health, attachment, addictions and barriers to accessing community resources.
• Have knowledge of community resources to support youth
• Have strong teamwork and communication skills
• Be proficient with computer technology and writing reports/logs

Responsibilities

• Helping program participants build the skills, knowledge, and confidence required to successfully transition into adulthood and thrive in their preferred community and living environment.
• Co-creating, monitoring, and reporting on Safety Plans and Service Plans for each program participant on their caseload.
• Working collaboratively with SWS team colleagues, family members, support network, service team professionals, and community partners to ensure a cohesive and unified plan of care and support.
