About The Position

This is a temporary position for a Warehouse Lead. The role involves overseeing daily warehouse operations, including receiving, inspecting, processing, and shipping products. The Lead will also be responsible for managing inventory, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and guiding warehouse associates. Key duties include managing deliveries, processing customer orders, maintaining equipment, and supervising inventory checks.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of warehouse supervisory or leadership experience in a distribution, warehouse, or logistics environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), AS400, and inventory control software.
  • Experience with inventory management, materials handling, shipping and receiving, and logistics coordination.
  • Experience operating warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks (forklift certification preferred).
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and warehouse safety best practices.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with e-commerce fulfillment or third-party logistics (3PL) operations is a plus.
  • Familiarity with heavy material handling, process improvement initiatives, and warehouse best practices.
  • Experience using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, including AS400, is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and check in daily deliveries.
  • Inspect all incoming orders, including special orders, for accuracy and quality.
  • Receive, inspect, and process products from the overstock warehouse.
  • Prepare and ship products to the overstock warehouse.
  • Unload daily deliveries and verify designated shipments.
  • Receive goods using stock transfer or purchase order processes.
  • Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, and perform manual unloading as needed.
  • Assign special orders and put-away tasks to warehouse associates.
  • Process customer orders at shipping docks.
  • Respond to customer questions and resolve order-related concerns.
  • Guide employees on customer order issues, including short shipments, backorders, and shipping requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain customer order status reports.
  • Oversee daily maintenance of order pickers, including cleaning, organization, pre-shift inspections, battery maintenance, and scheduled servicing.
  • Ensure all order picker operators follow company safety policies and equipment operating procedures.
  • Ensure will-call orders (immediate and future pickups), put-aways, item moves, and cycle counts are completed accurately and on time.
  • Supervise inventory checks to maintain accuracy.
  • Follow up with employees regarding daily inventory activities.
  • Monitor inventory through cycle counts, physical inventories, and system updates to minimize shortages, overstock, and inventory discrepancies.
  • Ensure backordered products are assembled and prepared for customer pickup or shipment.
  • Receive and properly put away incoming shipments.
