About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 4–6 years of industry experience or freight handling experience.
• Ability to perform basic math, read orders, write instructions, and complete forms.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with customers, employees, and supervisors verbally and in writing.
• Ability to handle conflict constructively and recognize potential problems.
• Proficiency with, or ability to learn, current technologies such as smartphones, inventory control systems, and other necessary business applications.
• Teamwork skills and ability to build customer relationships.
• Leadership ability, including mentoring new associates, willingness to train others, safety committee engagement, and participation in US1 Continuous Improvement Projects.
• Ability to operate a forklift with foot and hand controls.
• A valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record may be required depending on location and job responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Operate safely and contribute to a positive work environment.
• Assist warehouse associates and the direct supervisor in maintaining an organized work environment, including keeping bays and staging areas clean and organized and potentially emptying trash receptacles.
• Receive incoming products, commodities, and materials; count and record receipts; and stock materials in appropriate bins or storage locations.
• Assist inventory control with counting and organizing warehouse materials and monitor inventory as required by location management.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Operate a forklift with foot and hand controls to handle materials, build outgoing orders, or load completed orders onto delivery equipment.
• Operate facility equipment as necessary, including a bander, power tools, and hand tools.
• Maintain awareness of the work environment to produce error-free and damage-free results.
• Oversee fewer than 10 associates in a working lead role by directing daily work assignments and coordinating tasks.
• Provide some logistics oversight or act as a backup when needed.
• After required training and authorization, possibly operate a company vehicle to transport materials, make deliveries, transfer inventory between locations, or complete other business-related tasks in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned, comply with company policies and standards, adhere to workplace safety commitments, and participate in and complete assigned trainings.
• Mentor new associates, train others, engage with the safety committee, and participate in US1 Continuous Improvement Projects.
