Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of eight (8) to ten (10) years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the legacy and smart Metering and Energy Efficient platforms by architecting systems, creating and encouraging great software development practices, driving strategic technical improvements, and mentoring other engineers.
• Work with internal staff and 3rd party vendors to oversee the development, integration, maintenance, patching, and repairing of software and associated infrastructure.
• Create or ensure architectural designs exist for systems.
• Create or ensure BC and DR plans exist for systems.
• Lead software performance management (measure and improve).
• Successfully plan and execute projects involving multiple developers and complex requirements, prioritizing strategically.
• Contribute to major architectural decisions and read all project related tech specs, tracking status and considering implications to other systems.
• Spur and facilitate meaningful discussion around complex issues.
• Work with key stakeholders effectively to solve problems and make decisions.
• Share status with all stakeholders and proactively remedy communication issues.
• Implement functional strategy.
• Establish operational plans for work area.
• Develop and implement new products, processes, standards, or operational plans that will have an impact on the achievement of functional results.
• Improve existing processes and practices.
• Own and develop elements of functional strategies and operational goals in area of expertise.
• Focus on operational plans with short to medium-term impact on the organization (e.g., 1 – 2 years).
• Direct activities that have significant impact to the achievement of results for the discipline.
