About The Position

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
• Warehouse shipping or similar experience
• Must be able to operate a forklift.
• Experience with computers and data entry
• Ability to use and read a tape measure.
• On the job training will be provided, however, a basic experience within a relevant environment is required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Global Shop Solutions
• Knowledge of UPS and FedEx shipping standards and requirements

Responsibilities

• Selects parts to ship, compares identifying information and counts, weighs or measures items to verify information against invoices, orders or other records.
• Determines method of shipment.
• Creates shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
• Coordinates exporting and required documentation.
• Assemble wooden or cardboard containers or select preassembled containers.
• Inserts items into containers and load containers on trucks.
• Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.
• Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
• Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• Coordinates with Sales and Accounting concerning sales orders.
• Loads and unloads materials, parts or products onto or from pallets, skids, conveyors or trucks.
• Operates forklift or uses hand truck to move, convey or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
• Assists other employees as requested.
• Possesses basic computer skills, e.g., able to enter numbers, codes, dimensions, address track shipments, run reports.
