About The Position
Northwest Specialty Hospital, an extension of Northern Nevada Medical Center, provides adult behavioral health services in a new facility in Northwest Reno. The Behavioral Health Unit is managed by a multidisciplinary team that includes physicians, nurses, CNAs, social workers, and therapists. Patients receive individualized care plans involving individual and family therapy, activities, medication management, and a secure, compassionate 24-hour environment. This full-time Registered Nurse position offers full benefits and a flexible day-shift schedule. The nurse provides safe, compassionate care grounded in Patient Centered Care principles and demonstrates Service Excellence standards. The role involves assessing and addressing patients’ needs, developing and implementing care plans, and coordinating care with patients’ designated care partners.
Requirements
- Current RN license.
- Current BLS certificate.
Nice To Haves
- One year of full-time or three years of part-time experience in a psychiatric setting is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Involve the patient and family’s psychosocial, spiritual, emotional, population-specific, and diversity needs in care assessment.
- Construct and implement the plan of care using nursing knowledge and skill, integrating direct and indirect patient care activities related to diagnoses and comorbidities.
- Collaborate with the patient’s designated care partner to meet the patient’s educational, physical, psychological, and spiritual needs.
- Provide safe and compassionate patient care grounded in Patient Centered Care principles and demonstrate Service Excellence standards.
