About The Position

ChristianaCare is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Cardiology Short Stay Unit (CSSU) at Christiana Hospital in Newark, Delaware. CSSU is a 14-bed mixed cardiac-specific inpatient and observation intermediate cardiac care area that provides scheduled and emergency care and procedures 24 hours a day. The unit is designed to accommodate patients needing emergency cardiac care and testing. This is a full-time position working 12-hour rotating day and midnight shifts (7 a.m.–7 p.m. and 7 p.m.–7 a.m.). Weekends and holidays are required as directed by the department.

Requirements

At least one year of medical/surgical experience in an inpatient setting.
BLS certification and ACLS certification.
BSN required, or willingness and ability to obtain a BSN within three years of hire.
Delaware RN licensure or eligibility for licensure in Delaware.

Nice To Haves

Cardiac and/or step-down experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide nursing care in the Cardiology Short Stay Unit, which serves inpatient and observation patients requiring cardiac care.
