About The Position

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited senior high school or equivalent or GED
• One year full-time, wage-earning experience in the repair, refurbishing, or recovery of computers or three years full-time, wage-earning experience in any production or manufacturing operation
• Knowledge of quality control standards to maintain satisfactory levels of production
• Knowledge of production and workflow procedures
• Skill to communicate ideas and instructions clearly and concisely
• Skill to coordinate with other staff, departments, officials, agencies, organizations, and the public
• Skill to interpret and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
• Skill in problem-solving techniques
• Skill to train and supervise inmates

Nice To Haves

• Correctional custody or law enforcement experience preferred
• Knowledge of shoe manufacturing and equipment preferred
• Knowledge of agency and departmental organizational structure, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations preferred
• Skill in the use of machinery and equipment in the assigned area preferred

Responsibilities

• Monitors inmates in the performance of assigned tasks
• Develops production standards
• Monitors and reviews production to ensure quality and quantity control of finished products
• Monitors machinery and equipment maintenance
• Ensures on-the-job training is conducted for inmate workers in methods and equipment used in production in the Computer Recovery Facility
• Prepares reports of operations and related documents
• Maintains security of tools, machinery, and equipment
• Responds to emergency situations
• Performs various correctional and custodial support functions
• Assists in maintaining security of assigned inmates
• Performs a variety of marginal duties not listed, to be determined and assigned as needed
