About The Position

The Production Supervisor oversees day-to-day operations in a manufacturing environment, serving as a coach and trainer, resolving issues, and linking direct reports with upper management. This role leads day-shift weld shop operations, develops and supervises welders, and ensures production targets and capacity goals are met while promoting safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives. The position is within Cornerstone Building Brands’ Fortify Building Solutions business, which serves the pre-engineered metal buildings, metal roof and wall systems, and steel building components industry. The supervisor collaborates with plant leadership and other departments on staffing, resource utilization, production, and timely job completion. They assign personnel, manage shift handoffs, maintain operational records, address urgent production or shipping needs, and drive safety, 5S, cost-reduction, quality, and continuous-improvement initiatives. The role is based at 422 Kirby Dr, Lexington, Tennessee. This is a full-time position with a targeted base salary of $85,000. Medical, dental, and vision benefits begin on day one. Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Minimum of two years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience in a weld shop environment, including MIG (GMAW) welding knowledge and a strong understanding of welding processes.
Demonstrated ability to supervise, motivate, mentor, and regularly train employees.
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
Ability to spend prolonged periods on one's feet, including standing and bending.
Ability to work around moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and a non-climate-controlled environment, and tolerate high noise levels.

Responsibilities

Facilitate the manufacture of building products to meet production demands while ensuring quality, safety, and productivity.
Manage day-shift weld shop operations and lead and develop a team of welders to achieve production targets and capacity goals.
Collaborate with plant leadership to develop staffing guidelines, optimize resource utilization, and control costs.
Hire, supervise, evaluate, and replace staff as required to meet performance goals.
Develop and train employees for increasing responsibilities, conduct periodic evaluations, and hold daily safety and production meetings.
Drive 5S, cost-reduction, and quality-improvement initiatives.
Assign personnel, oversee rotations, and maintain effective communication during shift changes and troubleshooting.
Ensure accurate completion of line-operation paperwork, including logs, audits, and corrective actions.
Address urgent production or shipping requirements, even when doing so disrupts regular workflow.
Understand and enforce safety policies and regulations, and address unsafe acts and conditions.
Administer policies fairly and consistently.
Coach and counsel employees and issue corrective action when needed, following company guidelines.
Promote company goals for safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
Identify and assist with implementing continuous process improvements, using data to refine production processes.
Manage materials to reduce waste and support quality.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely job completion.
Communicate effectively and educate and train employees in a production environment.
Supervise, monitor, and manage the work of others to ensure tasks are completed accurately, efficiently, and on time.
