About The Position

This opportunity is located in Northern Arizona, near Canyon de Chelly National Monument, an area rich in Native American culture and natural beauty. The role is at the Tsaile Health Center, an ambulatory care center serving the Navajo and Hope Nations, which are significantly underserved in healthcare. The clinic operates Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and offers opportunities for outdoor activities like hiking, biking, and fishing. The position involves alleviating the healthcare shortage in this region, where residents face a higher likelihood of chronic health conditions due to limited access to care.

Requirements

  • Minimum of twelve months of experience.
  • Current, valid, unrestricted license in a state of the United States or its territories to practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant.
  • Certified through the AANP/NNCPA.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification.
  • Minimum of three current letters of reference from other healthcare providers familiar with the provider's clinical practice skills within the same discipline, with one from an immediate supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Perform outpatient family practice duties.
  • Test patients due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
  • Work at alternate sites with alternate hours within the Chinle Service Unit to accommodate patient flow and safety.
  • Diagnose and treat patients with common acute conditions, chronic illnesses, or minor trauma within accepted protocols, clinical practice guidelines, Nurse Practice Acts, and/or in consultation with a physician.
  • See patients at the walk-in clinic.
