Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Critical Care - GCMC
About The Position
Geisinger Community Medical Center is seeking a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join its critical care team. The role involves practicing state-of-the-art medicine in collaboration with physicians and nursing staff. Providers work 14 shifts per month, with 12-hour shifts from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. or 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.; the schedule includes a mix of days and nights. A 100% night schedule is available for additional stipend and incentives, and moonlighting is available for extra income. The provider works collaboratively with physicians and staff to assess patient needs, plan and provide education and care, evaluate outcomes, and coordinate follow-up and referrals. The provider also serves as a patient advocate, acting as a confidant, advisor, and liaison among patients, families, and physicians. The position is based at Geisinger Community Medical Center in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area. The region offers recreational attractions and outdoor activities, and is within driving distance of New York City, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., and Baltimore. Avoca International Airport is about 15 minutes away. Requirements
- Master's degree as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- For the Physician Assistant role, certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
Responsibilities
- Work 14 shifts per month on 12-hour day or night shifts.
