About The Position

Geisinger Community Medical Center is seeking a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join its critical care team. The position is scheduled for 40 hours per week and typically involves 14 shifts per month, with 12-hour shifts from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. or 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. The schedule includes a mix of days and nights; a 100% night schedule is available for additional stipend and incentives. Moonlighting is available for extra income.

Requirements

• Master's degree as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
• Basic Life Support certification.
• Certified Physician Assistant credential from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is listed in the certification and license information.
• Skills in care management knowledge, clinical policies and standards, health information documentation, patient assessment and care, patient safety, and patients' rights.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with physicians and staff to assess patient needs, plan and provide education and care, evaluate outcomes, and coordinate follow-up and referrals.
• Act as a patient advocate in the medical care system, serving as a confidant, advisor, and liaison among patients, families, and physicians.
