About The Position

Geisinger Community Medical Center is seeking a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join its critical care team. The role involves practicing state-of-the-art medicine in collaboration with physicians and nursing staff. The position is based at Geisinger Community Medical Center (GCMC) in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

The schedule is 14 shifts per month, with 12-hour shifts from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. or 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., and a mix of days and nights. A 100% night schedule is available for additional stipend and incentives. Moonlighting is available for extra income.

Requirements

• Master's degree as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
• Basic Life Support certification.
• Physician Assistant certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Knowledge of care management, clinical policies and standards, health information documentation, patient assessment and care, patient safety, and patients' rights.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with physicians and staff to assess patient needs, plan and provide education and care, evaluate outcomes, and coordinate follow-up and referrals.
• Serve as a patient advocate, confidant, and advisor, and act as a liaison among patients, families, and physicians.
