About The Position

The Patient Safety Attendant is responsible for maintaining a safe environment and remaining with the patient at all times to provide the appropriate level of observation as delegated by the Registered Nurse. This role involves documenting required information during patient observation, performing handoff communication with the Registered Nurse, assisting the nursing team in maintaining a ligature-resistant or ligature-free environment, and notifying the licensed nurse of immediate patient safety, patient care, and staff needs. The attendant also fosters positive and professional communication between patients and staff and adheres to all policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Basic Life Support Certification required.
  • CPI certification required prior to conducting patient observation.
  • Must speak and understand English in good understandable terms.
  • Must have manual and finger dexterity.
  • Intact sense of sight, hearing, smell, touch.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all policies and procedures.
