About The Position

Emplify Health is seeking a friendly, service-oriented Patient Attendant for its Patient Experience Team. This active, part-time role is based at the La Crosse Main Campus – East Building and involves extensive walking, standing, and patient transportation throughout the hospital and clinic. The Patient Attendant warmly greets and assists patients, family members, and visitors, helping them navigate the facilities and creating a safe, welcoming, positive experience.

The position is scheduled for 24 hours per week (0.6 FTE), with shifts from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, plus a required weekend rotation. It is benefit eligible. Starting pay is $16.47 per hour, with higher pay possible based on experience.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• One year of experience working with the public.

Nice To Haves

• One year of customer service or healthcare experience is preferred.
• Basic computer skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet, direct, escort, and assist patients, visitors, and families throughout the hospital and clinic.
• Safely transport patients throughout the facility, including pushing wheelchairs and walking with patients to appointments, procedures, and other destinations.
• Remain active throughout the shift, spending most of the day walking, standing, and assisting patients.
• Assist patients with wheelchair use, transportation, and wayfinding while maintaining their safety and comfort.
• Support check-in processes for visitors and vendors.
• Respond to customer questions, concerns, and needs using appropriate resources.
