About The Position

This position supports the professional nurse by observing patients and helping maintain a safe environment. The Patient Attendant performs selected patient-care activities, communicates pertinent patient information, documents patient behavior and activity according to policy, and takes responsibility for personal educational development. The role also includes other duties as assigned or required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• American Heart Association CPR certification. If not certified at hire, CPR certification and Crisis Management intervention training are required and provided during orientation.
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.

Nice To Haves

• Previous healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform selected patient-care activities, including accompanying patients to tests, physical therapy, and occupational therapy, and providing diversional activities.
• Observe patients to maintain safety, physically intervene when needed, and immediately communicate the need for additional assistance.
• Communicate pertinent patient data accurately and in a timely fashion.
• Document patient behavior and activity according to policy, including medical or behavioral health needs.
• Assume responsibility for personal educational development.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.
• Comply with the company’s Code of Business Conduct, applicable laws and policies, training requirements, HIPAA, and information security guidelines; protect confidential information.
