About The Position
Assist Ambulance is looking for new and experienced Paramedics to join us full-time and part-time at our Brooklyn base! Assist is a New York City EMS agency offering a full range of emergency medical and transportation services throughout the five boroughs. Assist has a proud 30 year history of providing these services to the diverse and vibrant communities of NYC. Assist Ambulance offers Advanced Life Support and Basic Life Support via emergency and non-emergency ambulance transports for various hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, doctor's offices, and community-based organizations.
Requirements
- Active NY State EMT-P card.
- NYC REMAC certification (NREMT card alone is not accepted).
- Minimum 1 year of driving experience in New York City.
- Valid, clean NYS D Class driver’s license (DJ licenses are not accepted).
- Physically fit to lift 125 lbs. and pass a lifting assessment.
- Able to get 19A physical clearance and negative PPD test.
- Able to pass a 10 panel drug screening.
- Commitment to at least two 12-hour shifts per week on the same days every week (steady shifts).
- Good with people.
Nice To Haves
- New paramedics without experience are welcome to apply as long as they are fully certified at the time of application.
Responsibilities
- Respond to emergency and non-emergency ambulance transports.
- Provide Advanced Life Support and Basic Life Support services.
- Transport patients to and from various healthcare facilities including hospitals, nursing homes, and doctor's offices.
- Act responsibly under extreme duress.
- Handle a large volume of emergency calls.
