About The Position

The Meridian Township Fire Department is hiring a Paramedic/Firefighter. Under the immediate supervision of the unit commander, the Paramedic/Firefighter provides emergency medical care as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (MEDIC). The role also responds with an assigned unit to fire alarms and other emergencies, extinguishes fires, protects life and property from fire hazards, participates in fire prevention activities, and uses, cares for, and maintains fire/rescue apparatus and property. The position drives fire/rescue apparatus and performs related work as required or assigned.

Requirements

• Current Michigan Paramedic license.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS certification.
• Michigan Firefighters Training Council Firefighter I and II certification.
• Haz-mat operations level certification.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency medical care as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (MEDIC).
• Respond with the assigned unit to fire alarms and other emergencies.
• Extinguish fires and protect life and property against fire hazards.
• Participate in fire prevention activities.
• Use, care for, and maintain fire/rescue apparatus and property prudently.
• Drive fire/rescue apparatus.
• Perform related work as required or assigned.
