About The Position

Pacific Coast Producers (PCP) is seeking a Processor Operator for its Salem, Oregon facility. This role is crucial for executing processes in Cold Process, Hot Process, and APV operations, ensuring product quality through QA tests and monitoring. The Salem facility specializes in maraschino cherries and other cherry products.

Requirements

  • Excellent working knowledge of and ability to follow safety rules and good manufacturing practices.
  • Must be Power Equipment certified on forklift with straight forks and dumper attachment.
  • Demonstrates good problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision and perform multiple tasks.
  • Ability to perform all physical aspects of this job without assistance.
  • Demonstrates an ability in working well with others.
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Complete all processes in both CP and Red Room, including loading tanks, blanching, syrupping, syrup making, and cleaning/sanitizing.
  • Operate the APV system, including balancing syrup needs, start-up, shut-down, changeovers, CIP monitoring, and training new processors.
  • Continuously monitor syrup levels in Red Room and Cold Process tanks, reporting discrepancies to the Area Supervisor and ensuring resolution.
  • Coordinate with other processors to create and pump batches of syrups, flavors, and pre-mixes.
  • Pump product from tanks to the Pack Room for both cold and hot processes without impeding the pack-out process, including pumping spent and concentrate syrup.
  • Maintain knowledge of fill weights and syrups for various products.
  • Maintain knowledge of filling, staging, sanitizing, pre-syruping, flavoring, and coloring of barrels.
  • Empty, fill, clean, sanitize, and label totes and/or barrels of product.
  • Accurately cycle count chemical inventory.
  • Manage railcar syrup from receipt to release.
  • Perform QA tests/monitoring to clear fruit and syrup for processing and record data.
  • Create and apply DSI labels for product identification.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
  • Perform other duties and assignments as directed.
