This role involves laying out, assembling, installing, and maintaining pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic or pneumatic equipment for various industrial applications including steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial production or processing systems. The operator will study blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the appropriate materials and sequence of tasks. Responsibilities include measuring, cutting, threading, grooving, bending, assembling, and installing pipes, valves, and fittings, as well as using testing equipment to check for leaks. The position also requires drilling holes, trimming, filing, grinding, deburring, buffing, and smoothing surfaces, seams, and joints. A willingness to cross-train and perform other job tasks is expected.
