About The Position

The Production Operator works in Datwyler’s Moulding & Trimming Department, operating and monitoring manual and semi-automatic compression moulding and trimming machines. The role produces moulded sheets of varied products from preform rubber compounds and performs preform pre-control according to productivity standards. The operator follows standard operating procedures, work instructions, Good Manufacturing Practices, regulatory standards, and company procedures while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to speak, read, and write English to understand operating and related procedures and complete position-related documentation.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic.
Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

Work under the guidance of a Supervisor or Crew Leader to complete assigned duties in a timely manner.
Operate manual and semi-automatic compression moulding and trimming machines according to standard operating procedures and work instructions.
Perform preform pre-control on rubber compounds and produce moulded sheets according to productivity standards.
Maintain equipment in good and safe working condition and keep the work area clean, safe, and organized.
Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements.
Follow organizational and work-specific instructions, and attend applicable training and meetings.
Complete tasks efficiently and meet productivity standards where defined.
Follow safety regulations, promote workplace and team safety, and report potential safety risks to the line manager.
Adapt to changes in tasks, workplace, or team; work reliably; and take responsibility for assigned tasks.
Contribute constructively to team problem-solving and share and accept information and knowledge.
Participate in department or quality team meetings and suggest and help implement improvements.
Train new operators and/or trainees as requested.
Perform other duties as assigned.
