About The Position

The Machine Operator is responsible for operating CNC machines, performing daily preventative maintenance, loading and unloading castings, inspecting finished parts, monitoring robot operations, documenting inspection results and production quantities, maintaining CNC tooling, and working closely with team members to resolve issues and improve processes. The role requires maintaining a clean and organized machine area, a positive attitude, and willingness to work mandatory overtime. Operators must adhere to ISO 9001 requirements, safety guidelines, Lock Out/Tag Out procedures, and use good safety judgment, reporting any unsafe activities or conditions. This job description is not exhaustive and duties may change.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of CNC machining processes.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
  • Monitor CNC machine operations to ensure quality and efficiency in production.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical degree or certification in machining preferred

Responsibilities

  • Start-up/Shutdown of CNC machine.
  • Perform daily preventative maintenance of CNC machine.
  • Ability to load and unload castings to the CNC fixtures.
  • Inspect finished parts using calipers, gages and other measuring tools.
  • Maintain and monitor robot operations.
  • Document inspection results using computer software for quality control.
  • Document finished parts quantity using MES software.
  • Maintain CNC tooling by changing inserts, drill and taps and measuring offsets.
  • Work closely with team members to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Keep a clean, well-organized machine area.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and work in a team environment.
  • Work mandatory overtime when required.
  • Operate according to ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Follow safety guidelines, adhere to Lock Out/Tag Out procedures, maintain a clean and organized work area, and use good safety judgment.
  • Report all unsafe activities and conditions to the Supervisor and/or Safety Representative.
