About The Position

JBS is seeking an hourly Machine Operator GL3 to operate and adjust production equipment, with a focus on Vemag equipment and grinding. The position starts at $21 per hour and is listed for second shift. The operator makes precise adjustments, performs basic troubleshooting, and modifies or creates programs based on equipment, product, and customer needs. This role is a final quality checkpoint before products reach internal and external customers. The team member must understand and communicate information and perform all job functions safely in accordance with food safety, GMP, and quality standards. The work may involve cold temperatures of approximately 34 degrees and the use of sharp tools such as knives. Overtime may be necessary and is required when scheduled. Requirements

Must be proficient in General Production 2.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must be able to understand and comply with company, plant, and safety rules and policies.
Basic understanding of production and procedures.
Ability to use knives, saws, and a variety of machinery.
Ability to use both arms and hands to lift, load, cut, and package product.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Two or more years of production industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare the work area for pre- and post-operational activities.
Load, unload, and transfer product to and from equipment or conveyors.
Monitor production lines, identify issues, and supply or replenish packaging materials as needed.
Sort, weigh, wrap, label, verify, or measure product to meet specifications.
Inspect and remove defective products or packaging materials from the process.
Arrive at the workstation prepared to work at the scheduled time and remain until work is complete or a supervisor or manager indicates work is done.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Set up and tear down equipment and select predetermined settings.
Use proper lifting, bending, and reaching techniques.
Identify safety concerns or hazards and report them.
Perform safety checklists and operate pallet jack, riders, or forklift equipment.
Perform Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.
Modify and create program settings to meet production standards.
Make machine adjustments and troubleshoot equipment when required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
