WMCHealth is seeking a qualified Nurse Practitioner to join the Department of Psychiatry, Division of Inpatient Psychiatry, at the Behavioral Health Center in Valhalla, New York. In this Consultation-Liaison role, the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner provides psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and management for adult patients admitted to acute medical, surgical, and intensive care units. As a core member of an interdisciplinary consultation-liaison psychiatry team, the practitioner connects physical and mental health care and helps optimize patient outcomes. The role includes treating acute psychiatric symptoms, managing behavioral disturbances that complicate medical care, and advising primary medical teams on complex psychopharmacology. The practitioner provides services to adults, including triage, diagnostic evaluations, follow-up care, prescribing, individual counseling, and group treatment as part of a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities also include reviewing patient medication records to assess the appropriateness of existing medication regimens. This is an employed position through WMC Advanced Physician Services, a subsidiary professional corporation of WMCHealth. The Behavioral Health Center is a freestanding facility with a 97-bed inpatient psychiatric program for children, adolescents, and adults, as well as comprehensive outpatient mental health services.
