About The Position

AMI is seeking a Per Diem MRI Technologist to join the team in the Egg Harbor Township, NJ office location! This is a great opportunity to join a growing outpatient Radiology practice. The MRI Technologist is responsible for operating all aspects of the MR scanning unit, incorporating extensive knowledge of the system’s computer and all program modalities to perform scanning procedures and transfer images to film or software for interpretation. They will evaluate screening to ensure patient safety in the magnetic field, consult with the Radiologist and implement proper scanning protocols as directed. The role involves completing the daily work schedule, documenting in Zotec and on any required forms, monitoring patient flow and accommodating unscheduled patients and add-on studies. The technologist will perform all quality control testing, equipment calibrations, warm-up and shut down procedures with proper documentation, and advise the Chief Technologist/Office Administrator of the need for maintenance, service, and repair work. Participation in office meetings, in-service programs, continuing education programs, and other designated activities is expected. The role requires responding to office codes, policies, and procedures to ensure optimum patient, employee, visitor, and physical plant safety and security. Demonstrating competency in dealing with patients in all age categories (neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric) is essential. This is a Per Diem position based in the Egg Harbor Township, NJ office location and includes a consistent shift of Friday, 7:30am-6pm. Shifts may also take place in the Manahawkin, NJ office. Additional coverage opportunities are available! Scheduling is based on employee availability and department needs.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited MRI program
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT)
  • MR Board Certified
  • Current and valid American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required prior to start of employment
  • Willing to receive training and certification in venipuncture for the injection of contrast media via butterfly needle and IV catheter. If not currently certified, must be willing to obtain. In-house training will be provided.
