About The Position

Intermountain Health’s Internal Travel Program offers MRI Technologists travel assignments across the health system in Colorado, Utah, Nevada, Idaho, and Montana. Assignments last 8–14 weeks and provide variety and opportunities to work in diverse communities. Caregivers working 50 miles or more from home may qualify for housing reimbursement based on the assigned site; receipts must be submitted within 30 days. The position is full-time, with 36–40 hours per week and variable shifts, and may require participation in an on-call rotation. It is not benefit eligible.

The MRI Technologist performs imaging exams, supports patient safety and comfort, evaluates images, operates MRI equipment and related information systems, and maintains accurate records and required documentation. The role also assists and instructs students and other MRI Technologists in protocols and procedures. Assignments may be at a range of Intermountain Health facilities.

Requirements

• ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.
• 1–2 years of experience as an MRI Technologist in a trauma-level hospital.
• IV competency within 30 days of hire.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

Responsibilities

• Maintain ARRT or modality-specific competency in clinical and technical functions.
• Verify patient identity and exam orders, and prepare patients for exams.
• Perform exams according to department protocols and review images for quality, clarity, and accuracy.
• Follow MRI safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment.
• Complete studies within acceptable time limits without compromising patient care or quality.
• Assist and instruct students and other MRI Technologists in exam protocols, procedures, positioning, and equipment.
• Provide patient education, promote comfort, and address patient concerns.
• Use appropriate infection-control practices and sterile techniques.
• Operate imaging equipment and related information systems to produce quality images.
• Maintain accurate records of patient information, procedures, and adverse reactions.
• Follow protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, quality-control programs, and reporting equipment failures.
