Requirements

• Hold a Washington State license as a Master Esthetician or nail technician and have industry knowledge.
• Have strong organizational and time-management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Have strong problem-solving skills and sound decision-making ability in a fast-paced environment.
• Be comfortable using technology and business software.
• Handle confidential information with discretion.
• Be able to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
• Have strong attention to detail and the ability to evaluate candidate performance accurately.
• Apply examination standards and scoring guidelines consistently, fairly, and objectively.
• Have strong verbal and written communication skills, including accurate documentation.
• Remain calm, professional, and impartial when handling challenging situations.
• Demonstrate reliability, integrity, and accountability while maintaining exam security and confidentiality.
• Not work at, speak at, visit, or receive services from an industry-related school, and not evaluate anyone known personally or professionally.
• Successfully complete the required background screening.

Responsibilities

• Oversee cosmetology examinations and ensure their seamless execution.
• Provide candidates with clear verbal instructions.
• Monitor the testing environment and enforce NIC examination protocols.
• Maintain exam security and confidentiality, including avoiding prohibited communication with examiners or candidates.
• Evaluate candidate performance accurately and apply examination standards and scoring guidelines consistently, fairly, and objectively.
• Document examination information accurately.
• Handle challenging situations calmly, professionally, and impartially.
