About The Position

As an Industrial Maintenance Technician at Avery Dennison, you will play a critical role in maintaining facility uptime and equipment reliability. Joining our collaborative 1st Shift team, you will perform planned, predictive, and emergency breakdown repairs on mechanical and electrical manufacturing systems.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of multi-craft (electrical & mechanical) industrial maintenance experience, OR a Trade School Certification / Associate's Degree in Industrial Maintenance
  • Hands-on experience with 3-phase power, PLC systems, relay logic, motor controls, electrical conduit installation, and testing devices (ammeters, meggers, gauges)
  • Proficient in mechanical tool repair, pneumatics, basic plumbing, HVAC, masonry, and general facility maintenance
  • Exceptional diagnostic agility, mechanical aptitude, schematic reading, computer literacy, effective communication, and willingness to cross-train
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs, with flexibility to work short-notice overtime as production requires
  • Knowledge, Understanding, & Formal Training in Plant utility systems maintenance & operations
  • Knowledge, Understanding, & Formal Training in Industrial machine repair/reliability techniques
  • Knowledge, Understanding, & Formal Training in Skills required for machine tool functions
  • Ability to work from prints/technical drawing
  • Knowledge of 3-phase & control power & basic input & output electrical devices.
  • Knowledge of relay logic, DC drives and PLC systems.
  • Working knowledge of methods and procedures used in performing evaluations on all electrical apparatus using ammeters, meggers (high voltage resistance test device), temperature gauges etc.
  • Understanding of technical & non-technical documents related to design & operational characteristics of machine mechanical and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose failures and repair industrial machinery, including 3-phase electrical controls, PLC systems, DC drives, motors, pneumatic tools, and conveyors.
  • Execute strict PM schedules, perform equipment calibrations, and inspect circuits and wiring for safety and efficiency.
  • Partner with engineers and production teams to optimize machinery, reduce downtime, and eliminate safety risks.
  • Order replacement parts, maintain repair logs, adhere to OSHA standards, and foster a clean, safe shop environment.
