About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or up to three months of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including adding and subtracting two-digit numbers and multiplying and dividing with tens and hundreds, and to use American units of money, weight, volume, and distance.
• Ability to apply common-sense understanding to written, oral, or diagrammed instructions and address problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Must be at least 18 years of age, have a safe driving record, and be able to obtain a Missouri Class E or Arkansas P designated driver's license.
• Ability to work well with a team, prioritize, demonstrate a sense of urgency, and show concern for customer service.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including standing, walking, handling objects, reaching, and lifting or moving loads up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to work closely with poison ivy, poison oak, sumac, and possibly other toxic plant materials.

Responsibilities

• Cut, trim, seed, irrigate, and apply chemicals to lawn areas.
• Prepare flower beds and planting areas, and plant, weed, irrigate, and apply chemicals to them.
• Clean debris; remove snow and ice; spread sand and ice melt; and repair walkways, trails, drives, and parking areas.
• Maintain trees, including trimming, removal, and irrigation.
• Maintain, repair, and winterize irrigation systems.
• Maintain landscaping equipment and tools.
• Keep the supervisor informed of equipment and supply needs.
• Develop working knowledge of the Lodge and its facilities to respond appropriately to guest questions, as required.
• Promptly and fully inform the supervisor of problems or unusual matters so corrective action can be taken when appropriate.
• Perform other duties as required.
