About The Position

The Groundskeeper works in the Operations Department and reports to the Property Manager. Based in North Kansas City, Missouri, this role helps create a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents by maintaining landscaping, grounds, and common areas and assisting with apartment make-ready tasks. The position is full-time, non-exempt, 40 hours per week, with a Monday-Friday schedule and weekends as needed. Pay is $18 per hour.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of related experience.
• Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.
• Knowledge of grounds maintenance and basic building trades.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
• Willingness to work hard and learn; no formal education is required.
• Ability to work on rooftops and use ladders or lift devices as needed.
• Ability to follow basic safety precautions in a work environment involving some exposure to hazards or physical risks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain landscaping by mowing, raking, watering, weeding, trimming, and laying sod.
• Pick up and dispose of litter and trash throughout the property.
• Clean and maintain common areas and grounds.
• Perform non-technical maintenance on plumbing, electrical systems, and appliances.
• Assist with make-ready tasks, including painting, drywall repair, and general carpentry.
• Ensure proper care and maintenance of tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
