The CT State Community College SNAP E&T Program was established in response to Public Act 08-161 which enables cities and towns to participate in SNAP E&T, a federally funded program for food stamp recipients looking for regular employment or an increase in wages through short-term vocational training. The mission of SNAP E&T is to maximize the financial resources available for providing a wide range of employment and training (E&T) activities that reduce poverty or the risk of poverty to individuals and families living in the Hartford County area and to leverage existing financial resources through this 50-100% cost reimbursement program. The SNAP E&T Coordinator is a grant funded position. The coordinator functions as the grant administrator for the CT State Asnuntuck Campus SNAP E&T and is the primary liaison between the campus and its community partners. The Coordinator will support all recruitment, retention and certificate completion activities of SNAP participants and billing responsibilities.
