About The Position

Fogg Filler is seeking a talented and driven Engineering Manager to lead a small team of engineers responsible for designing and manufacturing bottle-handling change parts and other manufactured components made for FOGG equipment while ensuring quality standards and efficiency within the department. This role involves managing traditional management duties while actively contributing to the team's day-to-day work alongside subordinates. The manager will review production schedules and work responsibilities daily with each employee to ensure seamless manufacturing of FOGG machines and/or equipment, organize and schedule jobs on a priority basis (capital, aftermarket, and warranty work), and monitor workflow to ensure daily production schedules are met. The position also includes conducting design reviews before production release, ensuring correct documentation for bottle handling parts, providing feedback on engineering, manufacturing, or routing issues, managing engineering changes in Fogg's ERP system, and maintaining a safe and clean work area. Additionally, the role requires working with the aftermarket parts team and LCM to address customer requests and supporting the service team in the field. The manager will also track material stock and hardware used in assembly. Internal contacts include department members and other Fogg employees, while external contacts may involve customers touring the facilities or interactions in the field.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in engineering discipline or equivalent, required.
  • Hands-on experience in a manufacturing setting, required.
  • Must have good manual dexterity and the ability to communicate with coworkers.
  • Must have PC/Computer skills, which include knowledge of word processing, data analysis, and spreadsheet applications.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of engineering and basic leadership experience, preferred.
  • Solidworks or equivalent software experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Meets with Plant Manager weekly to review schedules and discuss any changes, tooling and/or parts requirements.
  • Handles traditional management duties while actively contributing to the team's day to day work alongside their subordinates.
  • Reviews the production schedule and work responsibilities daily with each employee to ensure seamless manufacturing of FOGG machines and/or equipment.
  • Organizes and schedule jobs on a priority basis. This includes capitol, aftermarket and warranty work.
  • Monitors workflow ensuring daily production schedules are being met.
  • Conduct design reviews on each order / project before it is released for production.
  • Ensures that information for bottle handling parts is filled out correctly and routed to the Machine File for correct documentation in the change part file.
  • Provides verbal/written feedback to appropriate members regarding engineering, manufacturing and/or routing problems with parts and/or equipment.
  • Manage, review, and approve engineering changes in Fogg's ERP system.
  • Ensures and maintains safety and cleanliness of work area by performing housekeeping duties daily.
  • Works directly with aftermarket parts team / LCM to answer questions regarding a customer's requests or needs as well as supporting the service team when they are installing bottle-handling change parts in the field.
  • Keeps track of material stock as well as hardware used in the assembling of bottle-handling change parts.
