About The Position

The Product Manager supports the Geospatial Enterprise Open Data Store (GEODS) contract, which provides integration, design, development, and sustainment for data services in support of the Federal Government. This role oversees products from development through operational deployment, guides Scrum Masters and developers through the requirements process, and contributes to an organized Backlog and streamlined Roadmap. The Product Manager directly supervises the development team and coordinates with test, integration, and operations groups. Serving as a bridge between the government and one or more Scrum teams, the Product Manager advances the GEODS program’s vision and execution. The role manages team priorities and requirements, reviews completed work, supports roadmap development, oversees project execution, and reports progress and impediments to contract and government leadership. The position is performed in an office environment with light physical demands and requires the ability to attend to mental tasks for the duration of the workday. An active TS/SCI clearance is required to start, along with the ability to gain and maintain a Poly. This is not designated as a safety-sensitive position. Employment is contingent on successful drug screening, and employees must comply with company safety, quality, operational, and environmental requirements.

Requirements

  • Ability to clearly communicate complex technical challenges and obstacles verbally and in writing.
  • Previous experience supervising developers and engineers delivering new and updated software interfaces.
  • Previous experience serving as a Product Owner or Product Manager.
  • Experience utilizing SAFe or similar Agile methodologies.
  • Experience with cloud services, preferably AWS Cloud, and ability to discuss cloud service concepts.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based cross-domain solutions (CDS), preferably AWS Diode Services.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML, preferably AWS SageMaker.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance to start and ability to gain and maintain a Poly.
  • Master’s degree with 8 years of relevant experience, Bachelor’s degree with 12 years, Associate degree with 20 years, or at least 25 years of relevant experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong grasp of the Atlassian tool suite, specifically Confluence and Jira.
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) certification.
  • AWS cloud experience and certifications.
  • Familiarity with the NGA requirements process, including RFCs.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize work for one or more Scrum teams and maintain the team Backlog in Jira, incorporating feedback.
  • Assist Scrum teams in developing user stories and acceptance criteria that developers can clearly understand.
  • Review and accept completed work to ensure it meets defined acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure teams work on the highest-value approved priorities while avoiding scope creep.
  • Work closely with the government to move new efforts through the requirements process.
  • Assist the Chief Architect and Chief Engineer with Roadmap development and defining the program’s vision for future years.
  • Oversee projects to ensure successful completion and adherence to timelines.
  • Monitor project progress and identify potential issues alongside the team Scrum Master.
  • Provide contract and government leadership with visibility into team progress and impediments, including reporting such as CDRLs and KPIs.
  • Directly supervise the development team and coordinate with test, integration, and operations groups.
  • Fulfill applicable safety responsibilities, including required training and participation in emergency response tasks or safety committees and teams, as appropriate.
  • Conform to Amentum’s Quality Policy and applicable quality-system documents and customer contracts.
  • Read, understand, and implement applicable operational, safety, quality, and environmental plans, procedures, and policies.
