About The Position

As part of GE Aerospace Digital Technology supporting the Defense & Systems (D&S) business, the Principal Technical Product Manager owns the D&S Palantir Foundry environment and leads delivery across the technical teams that build on and feed it. This senior individual-contributor role is accountable for platform health, configuration, access and security markings, ontology development, the shared demonstration environment, and the platform roadmap. It also coordinates delivery and dependencies across more than eight platform functions without directly managing their teams. The role turns the D&S data strategy set by the Chief Technology Office into a reliable, governed platform for Defense and Systems Customer Experience (DSCX) products and the AI roadmap. Responsibilities span platform resources and cost, Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP) capacity, access governance and external-customer enrollment, data products and quality, reliability, compliance, and cross-team delivery. The role requires experience using AI and AI agents to help platform teams deliver more. The D&S Foundry instance runs on AWS infrastructure owned by CTO Architecture & Data, with data arriving through the Data Flow Engine from U.S. and international sources. It handles export-controlled and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) data. A shared demo environment supports customer-facing and leadership demonstrations, and external customers access the platform through business-to-business (B2B) enrollment. Cincinnati, Ohio (Evendale) is strongly preferred; Atlanta, Georgia; Livonia, Michigan; and Niskayuna, New York are also eligible U.S. locations. The position is remote and requires travel of up to 10% for vendor engagement, cross-team planning, and leadership demonstrations. The base pay range is $152,000 to $222,000 annually. The role is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. The posting is expected to close November 13, 2026. Employment requires legal authorization to work in the U.S.; employment visa sponsorship is not available. Access to U.S. export-controlled information requires proof of U.S. Person status as a U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. citizen, or a person granted asylee or refugee status.

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college and at least 10 years of professional experience; or an associate degree and at least 13 years; or a high school diploma and at least 15 years.
  • At least 7 years of professional experience in data platform management, technical product or program management, or a related Distinct Area of Work (DAW).
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States; employment visa sponsorship is not available.
  • Ability to meet the stated U.S. Person status requirements for access to U.S. export-controlled information.
  • Experience aligning teams that the role does not directly manage around a shared plan.

  • AI experience and knowledge of using AI agents to support platform-team delivery.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with Palantir Foundry, including ontology, pipelines, Workshop, Contour, and security markings, or a comparable enterprise data platform such as Databricks or Snowflake.
  • Working fluency in data modeling, semantic layers, and data governance.
  • Experience managing consumption-based platform cost and capacity (FinOps), ideally with Palantir Foundry and AIP.
  • Experience designing role-based access controls and identity federation, such as SAML, OpenID Connect, or Microsoft Entra B2B, in a multi-tenant environment.
  • Experience with DevSecOps, cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), and secure platform operations in a regulated environment.
  • Experience delivering in an Agile environment using Scrum and Kanban alongside engineering and architecture teams.
  • Ability to break complex platform roadmaps into sequenced, dependency-aware delivery plans.
  • Experience managing a strategic software vendor across licensing, roadmap, and support.
  • Ability to connect data quality and platform reliability to business decisions such as fleet readiness and supply optimization.
  • Ability to find patterns across technical and operational information and integrate processes that add measurable value.
  • Military experience may be counted as professional experience.

Responsibilities

  • Keep the shared Foundry demonstration environment current, stable, and ready for customer-facing and leadership demonstrations.
  • Drive ontology development alongside front-end work in Workshop and Contour.
  • Serve as the primary Palantir vendor contact for licensing, product roadmap, support escalations, and adoption of new capabilities.
  • Govern Foundry compute allocations, ontology volumes, and storage across usage accounts, partnering with platform teams to optimize and make resources visible.
  • Monitor, analyze, and manage platform consumption and costs at the usage-account, project, and ontology levels; provide proactive reporting and usage controls.
  • Manage AIP utilization, usage thresholds, platform limits, and spend with Palantir, balancing AI capability, cost, and operational stability.
  • Design and maintain the Foundry access model, including role-based access controls, fine-grained security roles and markings, and scalable provisioning.
  • Define and maintain the strategy for intangible exports in partnership with Export Compliance.
  • Oversee B2B onboarding, identity federation, and enrollment workflows for secure, compliant, multi-tenant external-customer access.

  • Work with Data Foundry to model, secure, and publish data products and the semantic layer required by DSCX applications.
  • Define and measure platform standards for data quality, lineage, and governance tagging.
  • Ensure data supporting TrueChoice Defense fleet management and supply optimization, and AI capabilities on the DSCX roadmap, is defined, governed, and ready to use.
  • Partner with Platform Support on L1-L3 incident resolution and own escalations that cross teams.
  • Drive CMMC readiness, vulnerability remediation, data governance, and audit readiness for the D&S Foundry instance.
  • Work with CTO Architecture & Data on infrastructure and data delivery decisions, reflecting platform needs in its AWS stack, Data Flow Engine, and architecture review.
  • Align more than eight technical teams behind a shared platform plan through clear priorities, transparent tradeoffs, and follow-through.
  • Provide principal-level leadership and mentorship in data platform management across the D&S Digital Technology team.
  • Use FLIGHT DECK, the GE Aerospace lean operating model, to reduce toil and shorten delivery cycles.
