About The Position
The Custodian performs routine and general cleaning and maintains assigned areas to meet the satisfaction of staff, clients, and customers. The role also supports program-space setup, monitors and reports maintenance needs, organizes cleaning supplies, maintains outdoor property as needed, and assists with building repairs. The position is part-time at 25 hours per week. The Custodian safely operates and maintains cleaning and grounds equipment. High school diploma or GED is preferred, as is janitorial experience. The role requires maintaining confidentiality; Microsoft Office 365, Teams, and SharePoint knowledge are preferred, along with willingness to learn new software. The employee must complete Safe From Harm training and keep it current as needed. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of training and experience providing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities; a diploma or GED is preferred.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Complete Safe From Harm training and keep it current as needed.
- Willingness to learn new software as needed.
Nice To Haves
- Janitorial experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
- Working knowledge of Teams and SharePoint.
Responsibilities
- Clean and dust horizontal and vertical surfaces, including windows, doors, desks, shelves, intake vents, tables, chairs, and cabinets.
- Maintain carpets through detailed vacuuming, spot removal, and shampooing.
- Care for hard surfaces, including tile, concrete, tabletops, drinking fountains, and counters, through buffing, sweeping, washing, polishing, spot removal, and disinfecting.
- Spot-clean walls, light switches, and doors as needed.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, including floors, bathtubs, showers, sinks, urinals, toilets, and mirrors.
- Keep kitchen counters, sinks, appliances, and floors clean.
- Empty trash and recycling receptacles and replace liners as needed.
- Assist with program-space setup, such as arranging tables and chairs, as directed.
- Monitor and report maintenance repairs.
- Organize cleaning supplies.
- Maintain outdoor property as needed.
- Assist with building repairs as needed, such as painting, moving furniture, or plumbing.
- Clean and maintain the grease trap monthly and report findings to officers, if applicable.
- Safely operate and maintain equipment such as snowblowers, floor buffers, floor scrubbers, lawn mowers, and lawn trimmers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
