About The Position

DM Burr is hiring a part-time, second-shift Custodian for the Waterford School District. The schedule is Monday through Friday, either 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. or 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The wage is $15.00 per hour, with a $200 hiring bonus after 90 days. DailyPay is available, allowing employees to work today and get paid tomorrow. The Custodian cleans and cares for an assigned facility using approved methods, materials, and equipment. The role also includes stocking and cleaning restrooms and shared spaces, recording cleaning work, reporting safety issues, and performing light building maintenance as needed. DM Burr is a privately owned building maintenance provider with more than 1,000 team members serving sites across Michigan and the Midwest.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or technical school certification.
Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
0–6 months of custodial or janitorial experience using floor scrubbers, buffers, and stripping machines.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Ability to read and follow label instructions on cleaning supplies.
Ability to follow basic verbal and written instructions.
Ability to pay close attention to detail.
Team aptitude and approach.

Responsibilities

Clean and care for the assigned facility using approved methods and materials.
Operate and maintain equipment such as auto floor scrubbers, burnishing buffers, stripping machines, and vacuums.
Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub, and polish floors using industrial cleaning equipment.
Empty trash receptacles.
Remove stains from rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions as appropriate.
Clean furniture, window sills, and walls; dust and wash walls; clean ceilings; and polish light fixtures.
Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment to clean areas.
Clean and stock restrooms, the janitorial closet, and break rooms.
Record and document cleaning functions on appropriate logs and report them to the Supervisor.
Perform light building maintenance duties as needed.
Report major safety items requiring repair.
Perform other duties as assigned.
