About The Position

The Custodian is responsible for keeping assigned areas clean and sanitary. The role performs janitorial and scheduled duties, maintains the daily upkeep of assigned areas, and handles hazardous-waste tasks, including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, and packaging special and hazardous waste. The Custodian operates motorized cleaning equipment and follows safety procedures, company policies, and work protocols. The position works as part of a team, responds to supervision, communicates professionally with coworkers, managers, supervisors, leads, and customers, and may fill in during staffing shortages. The Custodian supports the shift lead with punch-list items, uses appropriate personal protective equipment, maintains a professional appearance and conduct, and understands customer service, satisfaction, reporting systems, and the work environment. This position has no supervisory responsibilities. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM. Compensation is $19.00–$20.00 per hour. Requirements

No specific education requirement.
Must be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily and safely.
Must complete all safety and task training certification.
Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment, including equipment upkeep and care.
Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals and their safe, efficient use.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
If driving is required, must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record and meet company driving eligibility requirements.

Nice To Haves

Three to six months of training or experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Bilingual ability.
Forklift certification.

Responsibilities

Perform janitorial duties and all duties listed on the daily schedule.
Perform hazardous-waste responsibilities, including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, and packaging special and hazardous waste.
Operate motorized cleaning equipment and maintain the upkeep of assigned areas and cleaning equipment.
Report incidents and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures, and stop at-risk behavior by oneself or others.
Work collaboratively with other employees and perform repetitive tasks.
Maintain a clean work area and follow company protocols, procedures, policies, and rules.
Take direction and respond to supervision.
Communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, coworkers, managers, and customers.
Fill in during staff shortages and support the shift lead in completing punch-list items.
Use proper personal protective equipment and maintain a professional appearance and conduct.
Understand customer service and satisfaction, reporting systems, and the work environment.
