Custodian
About The Position
The Night Custodian is responsible for cleaning the facility, including removing trash, cleaning floors, dusting, and completing other cleaning tasks. The custodian sets up the building for special events and for use by outside agencies or groups, and promotes good community relations among community members and school clientele. The position ensures the facility is clean according to current Custodial Cleaning Specifications, supports timely and correct event setups, helps secure buildings, reports maintenance issues, maintains equipment, and removes snow and ice from walkways and other areas. The position is regular, located at Legacy Campus, and scheduled for 40 hours per week across approximately 260 work days per year.
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent.
- Frequently lift 5 to 50 pounds and occasionally lift 50 to 100 pounds.
- Frequently walk extensively, bend, stand, reach, and stoop.
- Occasionally climb, kneel, and squat.
Responsibilities
- Clean the facility, including removing trash, cleaning floors, dusting, and completing other cleaning tasks.
- Complete tasks outlined in the current Custodial Cleaning Specifications to ensure a clean facility.
- Support the supervisor by setting up for groups, special events, and activities involving staff or outside users in a timely and correct manner.
- Ensure general building security, including closing and locking doors and windows.
- Report maintenance issues and perform general maintenance of equipment used.
- Remove snow and ice from walkways and other areas.
- Support all District Sustainability Policies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
- Develop and promote good community relations among community members and school clientele.
