About The Position

The Logistics Coordinator operates within a team to coordinate, process, and manage all domestic logistics related outgoing business flows for DFS NA production sites. The position focuses on ensuring reliable, effective distribution of customer orders using numerous carrier partners and coordinating across multiple DFS and external 3rd party sites to ensure timely delivery of finished goods. Key performance measurements include Supply Chain Delivery Reliability, Transportation Reliability (TR), transportation shipment costs, and timeliness of Supplier Corrective Action Request completion. The Logistics Coordinator owns the logistics part of the order fulfillment process for timely and correct product delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelors or equivalent experience in Logistics operations
  • SAP or similar ERP system experience
  • Engagement & communication skills
  • Pragmatic problem-solving skills in complex, fast moving environment
  • Warehousing and Distribution knowledge in product storage and requirements of domestic shipping practices
  • Knowledge of and experience in other relevant disciplines (e.g., OTC, Manufacturing, Customs)
  • Knowledge of and experience in warehouse management systems
  • High skill in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Professional conduct and communication

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate logistics operations, including daily operational activities such as delivery creation and management, shipment processing in SAP, alignment with warehouse on order picking/packaging and fulfillment, generation of shipping/customer documentation, and coordination of carriers.
  • Track and expedite shipments, providing proactive communication on deviations to promised delivery dates.
  • Manage issue resolution with external carriers, internal departments, and 3rd party warehouses.
  • Ensure alignment and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Implement process changes for optimization.
  • Develop functional expertise in specific logistics focus areas (e.g., claims, incoterms, export documents).
  • Monitor compliance with legal and other functional operational requirements.
  • Act as backup to other team members during their absence.
  • Promote a safe and healthy work environment by embracing Life Saving Rules or other safety methodologies.
  • Fulfill Transport Safety Coordinator (TSC) duties when assigned on a rotating basis.
  • Review and implement key Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for new or updated processes.
  • Continuously improve processes on assigned regional logistics operations, aligning with regional supply chain strategy to support business developments and meet company targets.
  • Manage the transportation and documentation of stocks moving throughout the DFS distribution network, including delivery notes, transfer orders, and shipments.
  • Implement operational carrier agreements and act as the first operational escalation point for Logistics Service Providers and internal departments regarding service issues.
  • Manage the cycle count process for external warehouses and align 3rd party warehouse management systems with SAP.
  • Escalate cycle count issues to the Regional Key User for resolution.
  • Lead or assist in investigations related to complaint and claim handling for applicable shipments, following through to successful closure.
  • Proactively communicate issues and delays that may impact production and/or customer orders to Customer Service, Planning, and the Logistics Team.
  • Review customer requests for 3PL and 4PL use at 3rd party warehouses for feasibility, costs, and ease of implementation, reporting findings to the Logistics Manager.
  • Provide coding and requested analysis of Transport Reliability (TR) KPIs to improve the performance of the overall SCDR%.
  • Provide relevant input to the Logistics Team Lead for the definition and implementation of logistic strategies and KPIs.
  • Manage invoice exception listing or errors in carrier bills processed through the 3rd party freight/warehouse invoice auditor/payor.
  • Participate in Logistics Process Improvements.
  • Implement key changes that deliver supply chain improvements.
  • Implement new logistics service providers.
  • Participate in projects related to driving enhancements in the Operations organization.

  • Contribute to the implementation of the BG/BU strategy and plan in cooperation with the Logistics Team Lead and Regional Logistics Manager.
  • Responsible for all SHEQ aspects related to the execution of SC processes.
  • Develop, implement, and manage a cost-effective and efficient Logistics organization, standard working processes, and systems.
  • Manage carrier and warehouse relationships (no contract responsibility).
  • Manage carrier payment via 3rd party.
  • Perform shipment costing where required.
  • Ensure cycle counting accuracy with 3rd party warehouses.
