About The Position

At uniQure, we are delivering on the promise of gene therapy – and delivering hope for patients facing urgent unmet medical needs. Every role in our organization carries profound purpose; whether you're in research, operations, access, or support, your contributions impact patients. We're seeking passionate professionals who thrive in high-stakes environments, uphold rigorous quality standards, and share our relentless commitment to transforming the lives of patients. Join us in making the impossible possible, where your expertise becomes a catalyst for life-changing treatments. We are seeking a detail-oriented, business-minded Senior Contracts Manager to join our Legal team. This role handles high-volume contracting and negotiation across uniQure's R&D and Clinical programs as well as Commercial and general corporate functions – Facilities, IT, HR – using approved templates and playbooks, and escalating novel or higher-risk matters to the appropriate attorney. The ideal candidate is organized, process-oriented, and comfortable managing a high volume of contracts across a broad range of business functions, with sound judgment on when to negotiate independently and when to escalate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 7–10 years of relevant contract management experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or another regulated industry.
  • Strong working knowledge of standard commercial, R&D, and clinical contract types (CDAs, MSAs, consulting agreements, SOWs, vendor agreements, CTAs a plus).
  • Experience with contract lifecycle management systems (e.g., Agiloft) and e-signature platforms strongly preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills; able to manage a high-volume caseload with sound judgment on when to escalate.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable partnering with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented, process-driven, and collaborative.
  • Familiarity with redlining software and document management tools.

Nice To Haves

  • J.D. or paralegal certification a plus but not required.
  • Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM) or Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM) a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, negotiate, and process a high volume of contracts using approved templates and playbooks, including CDAs, consulting and vendor agreements, statements of work, and general corporate agreements across R&D, Clinical, Facilities, IT, HR, and Commercial.
  • Negotiate contract terms directly with counterparties within approved parameters, identifying and escalating novel legal issues, material deviations from approved templates, or elevated risk to the appropriate attorney.
  • Use the contract lifecycle management system (Agiloft/Qompass) and e-signature platforms to track contract status, milestones, renewal dates, and obligations, and to support reporting.
  • Partner with Legal Operations to maintain and improve contract templates, playbooks, and standard terms; identify and help implement process improvements.
  • Support contract compliance efforts, including use of approved templates and escalation of deviations.
  • Coordinate with Finance, R&D, Clinical, HR, IT, Facilities, and other business stakeholders as needed on contract requirements and business terms.
  • Train and support the business on contracting processes, policies, and self-service tools.
