About The Position
Glenbrook Nursing & Rehab provides free Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The ASC Nurse Aide Training Program requires no previous experience and is intended for people committed to providing compassionate care to residents. Training takes place over two weeks and includes 30 hours of classroom work and 45 hours of hands-on clinical training, supported by ASC instructors, nurses, and CNAs. After completing the program and testing, graduates can apply for a CNA position at one of American Senior Communities’ Indiana-based locations. The program also offers pathways for people interested in advancing a nursing career.
Requirements
- No previous experience is required.
- Commitment to providing compassionate care to residents.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, hair care, toothbrushing, and shaving.
- Help residents at mealtimes, including transporting them to the dining room and assisting with eating and drinking.
- Reposition and transfer residents, including between beds, wheelchairs, and toilets.
- Obtain and record resident vital signs and observations.
- Answer patient call lights and help fulfill requests.
- Build relationships with residents by providing care and companionship.
