About The Position

Requirements

• Registry of the Board of Nursing as a Certified Nurse Aide is required.
• Must be listed on the relevant Registry of the Board of Nursing as a Certified Nurse Aide in Virginia and/or West Virginia based on work location(s) within Valley Health.
• BLS Certification (Basic Life Support), American Heart Association-approved Healthcare Provider (HCP), is required. New hires must have appropriate AHA certification before completing orientation.
• Must understand basic principles of human growth and development.
• Must be competent to interact successfully with patients according to their special needs, which may vary based on the age of the patient served.
• Must have a reliable means of phone communication with the hospital.
• Will be required to obtain Valley Health-provided annual flu vaccination if employed in Long-Term Care clinical areas.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine personal care duties for patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Maintain a safe environment and report any problems.
• Support the mission and vision of Winchester Rehabilitation Center and Winchester Medical Center.
• Once experienced, may act as a preceptor in the orientation of new CNAs.
