About The Position

This role is for a Certified Medical Assistant in a Primary Care setting at Ascension Medical Group in Anderson, IN. The schedule is full-time, days, with specific hours from Monday to Thursday, 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, and off on Wednesdays and Thursdays. The Medical Assistant will assist with treatments ordered by providers under supervision, perform select clinical duties, interview patients, measure vital signs, and record information. They will also prepare treatment rooms, perform basic clerical duties such as answering phones and maintaining records, and manage materials by ordering and stocking supplies. Additionally, the role involves maintaining a clean environment, documenting provider encounters, listing diagnoses and symptoms, transcribing patient orders for tests and medications, and following up on instructions.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Medical Assistant obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. Certified or Registered both accepted.
  • High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with treatments ordered by provider as supervised by provider or registered nurse.
  • Perform select clinical duties.
  • Interview patients, measure vital signs, and record information on patients' charts.
  • Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients.
  • Perform basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing.
  • Perform basic materials management functions to include ordering and stocking of supplies.
  • Assist with maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
  • Document the provider's encounter with patients.
  • List all proper diagnoses and symptoms, as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions, as indicated by the provider.
  • Transcribe patient orders including, but not limited to, laboratory tests, radiology tests and medications.
