About The Position
Sentara Urgent Care Centerville is hiring a part-time Certified Medical Assistant in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The Medical Assistant helps provide a safe environment for patients, visitors, and employees by identifying and addressing safety needs. The role performs patient-care tasks and procedures, as well as administrative duties when appropriate. The Medical Assistant objectively assesses situations from multiple viewpoints, considers alternatives, helps develop realistic action plans, and evaluates outcomes. The role applies the skills and knowledge required of medical assistants, interacts effectively across departments, follows department and system policies and procedures, and contributes to productive and efficient daily operations. Resources must be used in ways that are safe, effective, ethical, and fiscally responsible. The position is scheduled for 20 hours per week. Shifts include two 12-hour shifts, one 8-hour shift, and one 6-hour shift, with alternating weekends. Clinic hours are 8:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The posting identifies the work shift as swing shift. Sentara describes its compensation as market-competitive, with a full-time base pay range of $21.69–$32.14 per hour. Additional compensation may include shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonuses. Requirements
- High school graduation or equivalent.
- Current qualifying credential: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or EMT Basic Certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.
